Life lately

Soooo...I have been extremely busy here lately. I just got a design internship at the Troy Messenger, a local newspaper, & I am absolutely in love!! I have a lot to learn, but Perry, the Creative Director, has already taught me so much. I haven't forgot about my precious little blog so I will be making more appearances as soon as I can get all my ducks in a line! Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!!

She's often called talented & perfect, & assured she has the world at her feet. She's thought of as beautiful, smart, & outgoing. When it comes to life, she wants nothing more than to explore & live hers to the fullest. A common piece of advice she hands out is that you only have one life, a motto she tries to remember daily. She's had a life most wouldn't expect, a broken family, a life story you wouldn't be prepared for. But through the times of turmoil & distress, somehow she always made it out, searching for the positives. A small town girl, waiting for the moment to escape from it all, she feels caged in & smothered. When will it be her turn to make a difference? When will the person she's told she is, be able to make a full appearance? When will someone see exactly who she is & take her in their arms to never let go?

a long awaited reunion

Today I was blessed to be able to spend a couple of hours with two fine women. Mrs. Merkel, a mother figure & teacher & Chloe, a high school friend. We "dined" at Miss Colleen's, a lovely restaurant in an antebellum home & played catch up. We could have stayed for hours longer, but the owners started packing up. The setting was definitely a distraction...all antique...all photo worthy shots. The environment was relaxing & the staff was very welcoming. For the past three years now, we have met for lunch in the summer to spend time with each other & discuss where life has taken us. Chloe is pre-med at Columbia in NY City. She is so smart & success is definitely in her direction. Mrs. Merkel is still Mrs. Merkel. She takes a group of students to Spain every two years & I think I might attend the next trip to Barcelona & Paris. It will be in April 2013, a long way away, but I need to start saving! Traveling is worth every penny in my opinion.
